The custom hearth we designed for Maydan, the Michelin-starred middle-eastern restaurant in Washington DC

We've been co-designing hearth layouts for chefs since our inception. If your concept is designed around improvisational live-fire cooking, we have the gear for you.

This approach is deeply custom, we create from your set of needs, starting from our foundation - or production - designs and either modifying them for your vision or build your dream from scratch. Once we have a good outline we put together a 3D render of the array for you to approve or edit. From there we go to the build— and art — phase.

Shown here are some example foundation pieces we've armed live-fire chefs with. They are imagination-boosters. Take a look, then call or email us with your ideas - we're all ears. But be ready - we'll be honest with you about whether we think an approach is practical and safe - live fire is our love, but we also know that many things, both positive or challenging, come along with it. For many of our hearth builds we use reclaimed iron and steel we find at salvage. We love the history, decorative elements and the simple fact that we are bringing a piece of art or utility a new life.
